Vale Royal Rambling Club’s walk on the 14^th February 2015 is from Pool Bank car park, (opposite the Spinners Arms), Palmerston Street, Bollington near Macclesfield starting as usual at 10.00 and you are welcome to join us.  Call any of the committee and they will help you find transport.

We start the walk by climbing up Smithy Brow and follow the signs to Pott Shrigley.

From Shrigley road we turn right and pass the old Cheshire Hunt pub.

From there we follow the Gritstone Trail signposts, and eventually arrive at Bakestonedale Road and turning right we climb over the moor to pass by Moorside Quarry from where there are wonderful views of the Cheshire Plain and beyond.

We then descend to eventually join the canal. From there we head back to Bollington via Styperson, and Long Lane where there are again panoramic views of the Cheshire Plane.  The walk is roughly 7-8 miles.
