Starting at 10.00 am from the canal side car park in Higher Poynton the walk will follow the canal south then through field paths to Keeper’s Cottage.

Park Moor will be crossed to join the Gritstone Trail past the Bow Stones and to Lyme Hall.

Ascending to the folly on Cage hill will open up views in all directions.

After descending to park Gate the route will take paths vial Elmhurst Cottage and Ryles Wood to return to the canal.

Following the towpath south to the starting point will complete a circular walk of 7 miles.
